The hardest part for me was getting out of the house and into an unfamiliar environment. I didn't know how to skate and was afraid I'd be the only beginner. It was also intimidating going in alone and not knowing anyone. On my first day I made a few friends, found out lots of my peers didn't have any skating experience, and realized it's hard to think about your life problems while you're fighting for your life on roller skates. Now, 13 years later this sport is still challenging me every time I gear up and I wouldn't want it any other way.

Skate skills can be learned, the hard part is putting yourself out there and trying something new. You can absolutely do this!
